Watt urged to cancel Woodside draft approval
As UNESCO delegates meet last week in Paris to consider Murujuga’s World Heritage bid, the Australian Greens called on Environment Minister Murray Watt to immediately rescind the draft approval for Woodside’s gas hub to give Murujuga the best chance of World Heritage Listing. Despite Watt's refusal to capitulate, World Heritage listing was granted.

Last chance for real climate action
UNESCO's World Heritage Committee has advised Australia to implement stronger climate policies and improve water quality management to protect the Great Barrier Reef, by ending their addiction to fossil fuels and properly funding water quality measures, to protect the Great Barrier Reef from being listed as "in danger".

Calls for adoption of remaining Robodebt recommendations
Two years on from the findings of the 2023 Robodebt Royal Commission, the federal government has still not implemented all of its recommendations, the Australian Council of Social Service (ACOSS) has said. As a result, income support recipients continue to receive cruel and potentially unlawful debt notices and payment suspensions based on automatic Robodebt-style compliance.
