Funding announced - 2022 community building partnership program

The electorate of The Entrance and the electorate of Wyong hve both secured $400,000 in funding for a total of 30  projects through the NSW Government’s 2022 Community Building Partnership Program.

MEMBER for The Entrance, David Mehan MP said the State Government funds will deliver much-needed improvements to local facilities including accessibility improvements at The Entrance Preschool, replacement of unsafe floor tiles at PCYC Bateau Bay, a new juniors cricket pitch at Bill Sohier Oval and digital signage for Valley View Public School.

 

“This is fantastic news for our community.

 

“This grassroots funding will directly help create a more vibrant and inclusive local community with positive outcomes,” Mr Mehan said.

 

“I congratulate all the organisations that were successful in their application and look forward to seeing how these projects make a real difference for community groups in the area.”

 

Member for Wyong David Harris said the State Government funds will benefit local facilities including Yerin Aboriginal Health Services to improve footpaths and access into the new Community Hub, Red Tree Theatre technical upgrade, and Wyong Girl Guides maintenance works and renovations.

 

The full list of successful projects in The Entrance electorate for the 2022 round are:

 

  • Lisarow Ourimbah Cricket Club - Sohier Park Oval 4 New Juniors Pitch
  • A new full length and standard width concrete pitch with synthetic grass to replace the existing one to improve the playing experience of junior cricketers.

 

  • The Entrance Preschool Kindergarten - Upgrade playground access and equipment for children with disabilities
  • Redesign and landscape playground for safe access for children with disabilities. Install equipment focused on sensory and gross motor development providing inclusion for all children.

 

  • Berkeley Vale Preschool Kindergarten Inc - Internal flooring replacement
  • All interior floors to be replaced with PVC non slip waterproof flooring.

 

  • Police Citizens Youth Clubs NSW Ltd - Lower ground corridor refurbishment at PCYC Bateau Bay
  • PCYC Bateau Bay seeks funding to replace the existing floor tiles due to safety issues and paint the brickwork to match existing colour.

 

  • Regional Youth Support Services - Youth in the Kitchen
  • A Kitchen will be upgraded to meet OHS- new cabinetry, bench tops, new sink, wall oven/microwave and demonstration bench hotplates.

 

  • Ourimbah Public School Parents & Citizens Association - Sensory garden update
  • Shade sail. Storage shed with concrete slab. Boardwalk. Chalkboards. Toys and games for the garden/sandpit.

 

  • Valley View Public School Parents and Citizens Association - Electronic LED digital sign
  • A digital sign at the main gate of the school visible from the road, to improve community engagement and promote school events and achievements.

 

  • Berkeley Vale Rugby League & Sports Club - Officials and storage facility
  • Build a structure as an extension on our current clubhouse. There will be a room for rugby league, touch, netball and small room for officials.

 

  • Central Coast Steiner School - Drinking fountain & bottle refill station
  • 2 triple nozzle wall mounted drinking fountain & bottle refill stations. One for the Primary School and one for the High School.

 

  • Bateau Bay Public School P&C Association - Oval area synthetic grass upgrade
  • Synthetic grass to cover large multi purpose area of oval for all weather access.

 

  • Central Coast Cricket Association - Cricket wicket roller purchase
  • The purchase of a roller to be used on a turf wicket.

 

  • Lisarow Public School Parents and Community Association - Construction of Yarning Circle
  • Building a Yarning Circle at Lisarow Public School.

 

  • Toowoon Bay Surf Life Saving Club - Club refurbishment
  • Finish refurbishment of the club - painting, flooring and lighting upgrades.

 

  • Life Education NSW - Healthy Harold Mobile Learning Centre – Air-conditioning
  • Installation of COVID safe air-conditioning system in the Life Ed Mobile Learning Centre to improve health and safety for students and teachers.

The Community Building Partnership program has funded more than 18,000 community projects since it commenced in 2009.

 

Applications for the next round of grants open in May 2023.
