THE DPA will use the funding to pay for nationally accredited St John’s Ambulance First Aid training for its membership, as well as teach its members how to use its Automated External Defibrillator (AED) in emergency situations.

Federal Member for Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid MP, met with the President and members of the DPA to congratulate the organisation on this funding announcement.

“The Davistown Progress Association do amazing work supporting the communities of Davistown, Saratoga, and Yattalunga,” Dr Reid said.

“I am pleased to announce that through the Albanese Government’s 2022-23 Volunteer Grants, $1000 will be provided to the DPA to purchase first aid training, as well as training on how to effectively use its AED.

“It is critical that the community understand how to properly use AEDs in emergency situations, as well as provide first aid. This training will ensure members of the DPA are able to respond in these circumstances.

Davistown Progress Association President, Jenny McCulla, has welcomed the funding.

“18 members of the DPA will receive first aid and AED training in the Davistown Progress Hall,” Ms McCulla said.

“This training will ensure our members can confidently respond during emergencies before the arrival of an ambulance.

“These skills will be invaluable and help safeguard the health of our community."

Davistown Progress Association is always looking for new members to assist with volunteering activities and market days.
