I’ve been everywhere: a PFAS nightmare
Just like the Lucky Starr hit song of 1962, I’ve Been Everywhere Man, PFAS, which includes PFOA, (perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances), known as ‘forever chemicals’, are contaminating our water catchments and drinking water river systems – the Central Coast is no exception. Yet Sydney Water's principal health adviser Kaye Power said "there's no concern for us".

Deaths' in paradise
At the citizen's inquiry, into the impact that burning coal has on human health, a plethora of illness, cancers and deaths, spanning decades, was revealed. The inquiry revealed the tragedy of human stories and of successive state governments, who, for what seems an eternity for a community suffering in the shadow of power stations, has ignored the plight of people living north of Wyong.

Skatepark marks completion of multi-staged precinct upgrade
Central Coast Council has officially opened the new regional skatepark and BMX track at Umina’s Peninsula Recreation and Active Lifestyle Precinct, completing the $8million upgrade, which also included a new basketball court, bouldering climbing unit, two sports amenities buildings, new cricket practice nets, futsal court, shared and connective pathways, plus access road and carpark upgrade.
