THE upgraded Headspace centre is conveniently located near the Lake Haven Shopping Centre. The larger and improved facility will provide mental health support, physical and sexual health services, programs to help with alcohol and other drug issues, as well as vocational support.

The upgraded centre will also be open longer hours to make it easier for young people in the region to get the support they need. headspace services are provided free for young people aged between 12 and 25.

Assistant Minister, Emma McBride said, “Many young people are doing it tough, and they need the best possible access to mental health support, close to home.

“The pandemic has had a significant impact on the mental health of all Australians, but especially young people.

“This upgraded centre and the incredible staff will provide welcome care and offer support that is tailored for the needs of the Central Coast community.

“Early intervention can make a significant difference to someone experiencing or at-risk of mental ill-health. That’s why I’m encouraging young people on the Central Coast to visit their new headspace centre, if and when they need support.”

There are currently 154 headspace services across the country, including 84 in regional areas.

The Albanese Government is investing more than $282 million in the headspace program in 2023-24 and will expand the network to 170 services by 2025-26.
