Palm Studios proves that artists

are alive on the Central Coast

Last week, Palm Studios Co. showed their production of “Catch Me If You Can” at Red Tree Theatre, right here on the Central Coast.

CATCH ME IF YOU CAN musical,  which was directed by Derek Walker, showcased the Diploma of Musical Theatre, Certificate IV in Musical Theatre and Performing Arts college students.

 

Member for Gosford, Liesl Tesch, is thrilled to see so many talented young people training right here on the Central Coast.

 

“It is amazing to see the high calibre of talent here on the Central Coast,” she said.

 

“Programs like those offered by Palm Studios Co. provides a once in a lifetime opportunity for young people on the Central Coast.

 

“As a Labor Member, I believe in the arts sector. Labor has a leader in Anthony Albanese who lives, respects, and values the work of artists.”

 

Catch Me If You Can featured an extremely talented cast, featuring main characters played by Finn Johnson, Sam Zovic and Tara Thompson.

 

For Finn Johnson, who played Frank Abagnale Jr in the show, completing a Diploma of Musical Theatre was highly beneficial for his career.

 

“I started musical theatre 6 years ago. I love learning the skills, good friendships and new opportunities the Diploma of Musical Theatre offers me,” he said.

 

The talent of Central Coast Artists can be exemplified by true triple threat Tara Thompson, who plays Frank’s true love Brenda Strong. Currently studying her Certificate IV in Musical Theatre, she commented on the benefit of completing her qualification.

 

“As a little girl I was always inspired by musical theatre. Palm Studios allowed a hands on experience and wasn’t like anything I’ve seen before,” said Tara.

 

Her next step after Catch Me if You Can? Finding what makes her, her.

 

“My next step is finding myself and Palm Studios has been amazing at helping me with that. I’m excited to find new opportunities in the future,” Tara said.

 

Sam Zovic, who played Agent Carl Hanratty in the production, states it’s m really fortunate to have a booming arts industry on the Central Coast.

 

“I’ve grown up in theatre in a majority of my life, I was trying to find new opportunities on the Coast and I’m really fortunate that Palm Studios was there,” said Sam.

 

“Not only was the Diploma of Musical Theatre an amazing experience, it provided a friendly environment and the perfect next step for my musical theatre journey.”

 

Managing Director of Palm Studios, Carley Edmonds said “Palm Studios is so proud to be delivering quality performing arts education on the Central Coast.

 

“Our aim is to decrease the number of Central Coast performing arts students having to commute to Sydney for quality training.”

 

Ms Tesch and Palm Studios both concurred that they’re excited for the future of performing arts on the Central Coast.
