THE awards honour individuals and groups who make a meaningful contribution to the Central Coast community and celebrate those making a positive impact across the region.

 

Council Mayor, Lawrie McKinna said the Central Coast Community Awards are an important opportunity to recognise the unsung heroes, volunteers and community groups who give their time, energy and care to support others and enrich community life across the Coast.

 

"Every day, there are people across the Coast working quietly behind the scenes to support others, strengthen community spirit and make our region a better place to live, work and play," Mayor McKinna said.

 

"If you know someone who goes above and beyond, whether through volunteering, supporting local initiatives, contributing to sport, arts, culture or the environment, I encourage you to nominate them for an award."

 

Council Director Community and Recreation Services, Melanie Smith said to be eligible, nominees must be Australian citizens who live within the Central Coast local government area and have made a significant long-term contribution to the community.

 

“Award nominations can be submitted across five award categories: Community Group, Community Life, Volunteer, Young Person and Senior Citizen,” Ms Smith said.

 

“An overall Citizen of the Year will also be selected from the category winners.”

 

Nominations are open until 10am, 31 August 2026. Self-nominations are not accepted.

 

The winners of the 2027 Central Coast Community Awards will be announced at the official awards ceremony in January 2027, with the event date to be confirmed soon.
