NEWS THAT MATTERS

Happy & safe holidays

from Grapevine news online

21 December 2021

WITH the holiday season upon us, it’s an opportunity to spend time with family, friends and loved ones, and reflect upon the year that was and the enormity of the impact of COVID-19 upon our community. As we now come out of lockdown and gain our freedoms, it is also a time to reflect upon the future and realise how lucky we all are to live on the Central Coast. It is also a time to reflect upon positive resolutions for 2022 and beyond.

Let us all come together with friends and family to share and enjoy, to laugh and to love and to cherish the importance of sharing memories and the special feeling that this season brings.

The Central Coast is also blessed with people from different cultures who will come together and celebrate the festive season by participating in their own special traditions and customs, observing days of religious significance, giving and receiving gifts, and eating traditional Christmas foods.

And during this time of coming together with family and friends, never forget that one of the nice things about the festive season is that you can make people forget the past with a present. It's not a bribe but a way of spreading good cheer!

For me personally, and no doubt for many other people, I can now reflect on the third stage of finally making it in life: I believed in Santa Claus. I didn't believe in Santa Claus. Now I am Santa Claus.

Whatever your plans are to celebrate the festive season, the Grapevine Community News wishes you a happy holiday, a healthy and a prosperous New Year and last but not least... stay safe!

So, here’s to a bright New Year and farewell to the tribulations of the year past; here’s to the things that are yet to come, and to the memories that we hold dear. And always remember:

  • Be a light in the darkness;
  • We all fall over sometimes;
  • You can never wear too much glitter;
  • Bring joy to others;
  • Sparkle and twinkle as often as possible;  and
  • It's okay to be a little tilted.

We publish again on 6 January 2022.
