Coast Shelter celebrate

new Wyong community centre

Not-for-profit organisation Coast Shelter celebrated the launch of their new Community Centre located at the Wyong Village Plaza in the heart of Wyong.

COAST Shelter Operations Manager Mark Trevaskis spoke about the services Coast Shelter offer to the region followed by an uplifting speech from the Hon David Harris Member for Wyong followed by the cutting of the ribbon, surrounded by members of the community, local organisations across the Coast, volunteers, and Coast Shelter staff.

 

The new facility is to serve as a vital hub for community engagement and provide essential services and a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space for people in need.

 

A range of services including hot meals, emergency accommodation and transitional housing assistance, social work support, domestic violence support and counselling, mental health and drug and alcohol counselling, and life skills training and workshops.

 

Coast Shelter CEO, Michael Starr and staff are thrilled for the new facility in Wyong, it is another step forward in Coast Shelters mission to provide comprehensive support and resources to those in need and will serve as a much-needed hub on the Northern end of the Central Coast community.

 

“The Northern Central Coast has historically struggled for services and I strongly welcome this move which will compliment the existing delivery in the area,” said Mr Harris.
