Connections Expo

for Human Experience Week

Central Coast Local Health District is hosting the Central Coast Connections Expo, a special local event to celebrate Human Experience Week, in partnership with NSW Health.

10 April 2024

FOLLOWING a hugely successful event last year, the theme of this year’s expo is “Innovate to elevate – Amplifying all voices and inspiring hope,” and is set to be a day of kindness, compassion, connection, support, information and inspiration.

Carer Support Unit Manager Tia Covi said the event was a rare opportunity for local healthcare staff, volunteers, patients, carers and the community to all come together and share ideas and experiences.

“It’s a chance for us to gather, be inspired and reconnect,” Ms Covi said.

“We want to celebrate our staff and volunteers for the positive impact they have on our patients’ experiences and also hear from our consumers so we can explore ways to improve local healthcare and ensure we have a person-centred focus.”

Highlights of the expo will include:

  • Inspirational keynote speakers including Kath Koschel from The Kindness Factory and Petrea King from Quest for Life;

  • Panel discussion on kindness and connection with Emergency Department Staff Specialist, Dr John Scott; Australian wheelchair basketball player, Brett Stibners OAM; and Carer and Program Manager at The Glen for Women, Natalie Purchase;

  • Information stalls with local health and wellbeing services and support groups;

  • Entertainment from The Glen Women Dance Group.

This free event is open to the whole community.
