Fighting for better schools

The NSW Government has committed over $3 million for planned maintenance and upgrades in several schools across The Entrance electorate.

THE much-needed improvements that will be implanted from the funding will address infrastructure issues, improve school facilities, and ensure safer and more functional environments for students and staff.

 

Member for The Entrance David Mehan said, "Investing in our schools is an investment in our future.

"These upgrades will enhance learning spaces, improve safety, and support our teachers and students as they continue to strive for excellence.

 

“The NSW Government is committed to delivering high-quality educational facilities and ensuring that local schools are supported in their ongoing maintenance needs.

 

“With funding secured, these projects will begin to take shape over the next year, ensuring long-term benefits for the community.”

 

The scheduled works, which will roll out over the 2024/25 period, include:

 

  • Valley View Public School

 

  • Construction of three retaining walls to improve site stability.

 

  • Tuggerah Lakes Secondary College, The Entrance Campus

 

  • Refurbishment of Block B TAS (Technological and Applied Studies) to enhance learning spaces.

 

  • Repairs to address concrete cancer in affected areas.

 

  • Niagara Park Public School

 

  • Upgrading toilets in Blocks B, C, D, E, and F, covering a total area of 140m² to improve hygiene facilities.

 

  • Tuggerah Lakes Secondary College, Berkeley Vale Campus

 

  • Development of a drainage solution in the assembly area to prevent water ingress into Blocks E, F, and G.

 

  • Killarney Vale Public School: Stage 1 of electrical upgrades to enhance safety and accommodate future technology needs.

 

These projects were identified in close consultation with school leadership teams to ensure the upgrades align with the schools' most pressing needs. The funding will facilitate progress on these projects, providing significant improvements to local school environments.
