CENTRAL Coast Clean4Shore group welcomed Federal Member for Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid MP, on a mission to remove pollution from mangroves in West Gosford.

THE mission to clean up the mangroves also included students and teachers from Narara Valley High School.

Each year, Clean4Shore leads up to 70 field trips: engaging the community, schools, disability, indigenous and business groups in the removal of plastic and polystyrene around the Hawkesbury River, Brisbane Waters and Tuggerah Lakes.

Volunteer groups led by Clean4Shore remove garbage from waterways while simultaneously educating themselves about the Central Coast foreshores and mangroves.

Member for Robertso, Dr Gprdon Reid said that it was a fantastic opportunity to support Clean4Shore and its work fighting pollution in our waterways.

“We had added support from Narara Valley High School, which ensured we were able to remove even more pollution from the mangroves," Dr Reid said.

“Clean4Shore does outstanding work - helping to fight pollution in our waterways, especially following significant weather events when debris and other items are washed into rivers, lakes, and the ocean.

“I would like to thank Graham Johnston and the team at Clean4Shore for their tireless efforts conserving our environment and raising awareness of pollution.

“I look forward to continuing to support this phenomenal organisation.”
