From the dry and crumpled leaf to the delicate veins of a petal, this wonderful exhibition of botanical art captures the beauty and detail of each specimen, by the Central Coast Botanical Art Group, is sure to captivate you.

THE work will feature paintings by a group of local artists who come together each week in an informal and friendly atmosphere to illustrate a variety of botanical specimens. As well as being accomplished artists, many members are gardeners, bushwalkers and plant enthusiast who carefully and painstakingly illustrate the specimens they love.

 

Each painting is an accurate portrayal of the subject and a variety of mediums including watercolour, coloured pencil, gouache, and graphite are used to achieve fine detail and creative expression throughout the work.

 

From the trees to the flowers, plants are essential to life on our planet and these artworks are stunning representations of the plants that “Flourish” in our natural world.

 

The exhibition, which is in the Foyer of the Art House from 10-4 weekdays only, finishes on Friday – this is your last chance not to miss it and purchase an extremely well-priced gift for Mother’s Day.
