Community infrastructure project grants for the Central Coast

$1.5 million in Community Building Partnership Grants are now open to for applications to make the Central Coast a better place to live, work, learn and play.

INCORPORATED not-for-profit community organisations and Central Coast Council are eligible to apply for grants of between $5000 and $150,000. Grants must be for building, refurbishing or repairing community infrastructure, or for buying freestanding equipment or vehicles.

 

Minister for Central Coast and Member for Wyong, David Harris said “It’s great to see this fantastic grant program continuing under the Minns Labor Government.

 

“This is grassroots funding at its best as it allows local groups to develop ideas, projects and benefits that directly benefit our community.

 

The state-wide program is designed for infrastructure projects that deliver positive social, environmental and recreational outcomes while promoting community participation, inclusion and cohesion.

 

Each state electorate receives a maximum of $300,000 in funding and applications are assessed against other proposed projects within the same electorate.

 

Member for Swansea and Minister for the Hunter said that she was thrilled that our Coast community is set to benefit once again from this wonderful program.

 

“I know these grants made a real difference to communities and more importantly, the people in them,” Ms Catley said.

 

Member for The Entrance, David Mehan said “I’m pleased to see this program, which was first established by the Carr Labor Government, continue under the Minns Labor Government.

 

“I look forward to working with my community on projects which will benefit The Entrance electorate.”

 

Since 2009, the program has awarded more than $436 million to more than 19,700 projects across the state, from access ramps for community halls to resurfacing the local sporting grounds.

 

Member for Gosford, Liesl Tesch said it was fantastic news for our local community groups who rely on the Community Building Partnership program to deliver great resources for our fabulous community.

 

“It is great news that the Community Building Partnership 2023-24 with $300,000 distributed to every electorate equally across the Central Coast, and New South Wales more broadly.”

 

Grant applications close Friday, 27 October 2023 at 5pm.
