MEALS on Wheels Central Coast proudly hosted a special BBQ event on Wednesday, 22 May 2024 at their Tuggerah Head Office to celebrate the incredible contributions of their volunteers as part of National Volunteer Week 2024. The event, which saw over 60 dedicated volunteers in attendance, was a resounding success filled with delicious food, laughter and heartfelt conversations.

The BBQ, hosted by Volunteer and Program Coordinator, Amy Baulman, put on a delightful lunch that brought together the entire Meals on Wheels Central Coast family. To show the organisation’s appreciation, Meals on Wheels Central Coast staff cooked the BBQ, allowing the volunteers to sit back and enjoy a meal. The atmosphere was filled with camaraderie and appreciation as volunteers enjoyed a day dedicated to acknowledging their tireless efforts.

“We’re incredibly grateful for our dedicated Meals on Wheels Central Coast volunteers who help with meal delivery, Community Restaurant, social support and provide friendly visits to our community,” said Amy.

“Your commitment and compassion are the heart and soul of Meals on Wheels Central Coast, and today we celebrate you!”

The event also featured lucky door prizes and generous donations from local businesses, which significantly contributed to its success.

JT Providores donated an incredible fruit and veg box, The Swordfish Co Budgewoi provided a delicious prawn platter, and Woy Woy Poultry Supplies contributed a massive meat tray and sausages for the BBQ. Their support helped create an amazing social opportunity for volunteers to connect with one another.

“To our Meals on Wheels Central Coast Volunteers: thank you for all that you do. Your generosity and kindness make a world of difference to our senior community,” Amy continued.

Meals on Wheels Central Coast extends its heartfelt gratitude to all volunteers and local businesses for their unwavering support. Meals on Wheels Central Coast is committed to keeping the spirit of National Volunteer week alive throughout the year by continuing to provide connection, support and nutritious meals to the senior community across the Central Coast.
