THE Oasis grant will go towards replacing existing fluorescent light fittings with LED lights and replace the community kitchen rangehood.
Oasis community kitchen is a gateway to employment for young people in gaining skills and to have opportunities to secure a position as a food and beverage attendant, coffee machine operator, kitchenhand and cook by building expertise in customer service, preparation and teamwork.
Ms Bust gave Mr Harris a tour around the property to share recent updates on how the space is being used, including the popularity of the Oasis Café.
Mr Harris said, “It is important to sustain organisations like Oasis at Wyong, who support young youth with services such as case management, school programs, counselling, employment opportunities, courses, social activities, the Drive for Life program, welfare support and Community Shop.”
The Community Building Partnership is an opportunity for organisations to engage and support their specific requirements to build, refurbish or repair community infrastructure, or to buy freestanding equipment or vehicles.
“I encourage not-for-profit organisations to apply for future Community Building Partnership grants”, said Mr Harris.
