Reid gift wraps for Coast Shelter

Christmas gift wrapping is being offered at Erina Fair in the lead up to Christmas. Each week, the wrapping station between Boost Juice and the food court is being used by different charities and community organisations.

PEOPLE who choose to have their Christmas gifts wrapped help raise much-needed funds for charities and not-for-profit organisations across the Central Coast.

 

During the first week of December, the station was used by Coast Shelter.

 

Member for Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid visited the gift-wrapping station at Erina Fair to lend his support and assist Coast Shelter.

 

“Coast Shelter is an amazing community organisation with services across the Central Coast, helping people in need or dealing with difficult circumstances,” Dr Reid said.

 

“I wanted to visit the team from Coast Shelter at Erina Fair and to even have a go at wrapping a few gifts myself.

 

“We all understand gift wrapping can be a little tedious and there is sometimes not a lot of time during the busy Christmas period to get it done. This gift-wrapping station takes the stress out of gift wrapping and helps the community at the same time. It is a win, win, in my opinion.

 

“I can report that, with the assistance of students from Mackillop Catholic College and staff from Coast Shelter, I was able to successfully wrap gifts without any issue.

 

“Christmas is a time of giving and I could not think of a better way than to stop by the gift-wrapping station this holiday period, get your gifts wrapped, and help raise funds for Coast Shelter and other worthy causes on the Coast.

 

“Coast Shelter is running its 2022 Christmas Appeal where it is calling on donations from the community to help people in need during the Christmas period. I encourage people to donate generously if they can.”

 

Coast Shelter from 2021 – 2022 supported 1022 clients across nine of its refuges. In addition, 21,000 meals were served with 65 percent of people assisted under the age of 25.

 

Coast Shelter is located at 346 Mann Street, North Gosford, and is open from 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday. They assist people experiencing homelessness and domestic or family violence.
