Reid to host senior's information session

Following the success of the local cost-of-living forum and anti-scams forums, Federal Member for Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid, will now host a Seniors’ Information Session at Broadlands Village, Green Point on the 1st of August 2024.

THE senior's information session will include presentations from an Aged Care Specialist Officer (ACSO) and a Financial Information Service Officer (FISO) from Services Australia.

 

Federal Member for Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid said “The Seniors Information Session will be an opportunity for people to get information on what assistance they may be eligible for.

 

“Navigating systems can be daunting, and often confusing for our community.

 

“It is imperative that I play my part in supporting seniors to connect with the available services. As this information can be crucial to enhancing their livelihood and wellbeing."

 

The content to be covered at the information session will include:

 

• Information on the different types of aged care services

 

• The registration process for aged care services

 

• Information about, screening to identify the level of need and pathway to services. The assessment of needs to identify eligibility and the right type of care. Referrals and support to find service providers that can meet a person’s needs.

 

• Free assistance available at all Services Australia Service Centres for general aged care enquiries

 

• The assistance available to Carers including Carer payments and to residents through our free Financial Information service.

 

Non-Broadland Residents are very welcome to attend the session but must reserve a seat as numbers are limited. Please call 4367 7064 to book your seat. There will be a complimentary morning tea to follow the presentation.
