Sharpening the carving knife!
Residents living in the Central Coast's northern suburbs, near areas contaminated by PFAS (per-and poly-fluoroalkyl substances) - deadly 'forever chemicals' - fear they have unusually higher rates of cancer than elsewhere across the coast. Wyong and its surrounding areas have some of the highest rates of individual cancers.

Move to stop tomato virus
The tomato brown rugose fruit virus (ToBRFV) is a harmful pest that causes serious economic damage to tomato, capsicum and chilli crops. The State Government has now issued a Control Order to protect NSW’s valuable tomato, capsicum and chilli industries.

Good times and great laughs in support of cancer research
Every day, approximately 70 women are diagnosed with some form of cancer. On Saturday, 14 September, hundreds of Coasties will come together at Ettalong Diggers for the ‘Cancer Council Carnivale Girls Night In’ annual fundraiser, which directly supports local families undergoing treatment for women’s cancers here on the Central Coast.
