WHEN school holidays arrive its a time to unwind and enjoy yourself - not sit at home becoming square-eyed from stealing at a television screen. There's more to life and it's all happening at YAAS!

So, here's what's on offer to whet your appetite:

Trading card & video gaming: A chill afternoon of gaming at Elemental Arcade

Queer performance workshop: Story-telling, character, theatre and drag!

Music Video Shoot: Star in a music video for a song by a local young person

These events are for 12-18 year old LGBTQIA+, First Nations & youth living with disability as well as all your mates and allies.

YAAS! Young Authentic and Social is an award-winning arts and culture program hosting social groups, creative workshops and celebrations.

We’re kicking off the school holiday program on July 5 with Gosfords own Elemental Arcade at Fun Haus Factory in Gosford for an afternoon of trading card and video gaming, and of course, new friends. Jump on the Nintendo Switch with Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, or learn how to play Cardfight!! Vanguard! Everyone is welcome, no gaming experience necessary.

Next up is the LGBTQ Performance Workshop, facilitated by local LGBTQ artists Carlee Heise and Luca Carter. Join us on July 7 at Fun House Factory, Central Coast’s Contemporary Multi-arts Centre, for a chance to get creative and express yourself with other diverse youth through theatre games, character exploration, story-telling and drag! This workshop is suitable for all or no experience levels. Get out of your comfort zone in a safe space.

Finishing the school holiday program with a bang at our massive music video shoot on 12 April at Fun Haus Factory. Feature in a music video shoot for a new song written and produced by local young artist “Ashton”, a finalist in the eMergent Sounds competition through Central Coast Council. Their song ‘Expectations (Y.A.A.S)’ is all about being your authentic self and celebrating your beautiful differences, so come and share your amazing and unique self with us in this epic music video! Don’t want to be in front of the camera? That’s okay, there will be plenty to help with behind the scenes on the day, holding equipment, making the sets, lights etc
