THE Weekday Walkers meet for a scheduled walk each Tuesday from March through to November. Their membership is made up of residents from all over the Central Coast, varying in age and background.

Becoming a Weekday Walker is a great way to extend your social group, increase fitness, and get to know the Coastal National Parks and some little known bushland

For variety, the group also venture to Sydney and Newcastle on occasions, where there are numerous  walking opportunities of varying degrees of challenge, but always a great day out.

A reasonable level of fitness is essential for many of the walks, with some less challenging that serve the interests of some members, who are no longermable to undertake the more challenging adventures.

The first walk for the year is Maitland Bay, Mt. Bouddi Look-out on 7 March and is a medium to hard walk of 8 kilometres. The group will be meeting at 9.30am at the Maitland Bay Beach car park on Scenic Road, near Maitland Bay Drive Killcare Heights. Anyone interested in joining the group should check out this walk prior to the scheduled group walk, to ensure you have a level of fitness to meet this challenge.

If your are interested in becoming a Weekday Walker, contact the 'Walks' co-ordinator, David Foster.
